What is Res Youth?
We believe our youth are a vital part of our church community. Their voices, questions and faith are a gift to the church body as we seek to do life together with God, in community, for the neighborhood.
Our youth ministry is shaped by six core values:
Jesus: Help students to be shaped by a deep love for Jesus—not just in what they believe, but in who they are, how they relate to others, and how they live their daily lives.
Scripture: Cultivate a love for God’s Word and equip students to read and engage it on their own.
Vulnerability: Foster an authentic, grace-filled faith where students can voice hard questions and be honest about their doubts.
Ownership: Walk with youth as they move from being just observers to making their faith their own.
Friendship: Create space for meaningful friendships—with peers and with caring adults in our church family.
Service: Help students discover and use their God-given gifts to serve both inside and outside the church.
Programs
On Sundays, Res Youth (ages 13+) join the main worship gathering with their parent(s). We believe one of the best ways faith grows is when young people see it lived out by their families and other adults in the church community. This kind of intergenerational worship helps build a “sticky faith” that lasts even after youth group ends.
At the same time, we recognize the value of age-specific spaces! Once a month—usually on the last Thursday—we host Res Youth gatherings that create space for fun, fellowship, and formation. We eat, play games, explore God’s Word, and worship together. While we often meet at church, we also go out for fun outings like escape rooms or ice skating.
