This week we followed God’s people into the the wilderness - a space where testing, thirst, and fear tempt us to question God’s character rather than bring Him our honest pain. Yet even in the desert, Yahweh remains faithful. Here are a few ways to follow the story this week:
📖 READ: Exodus 16-20. As you read through Israel’s wilderness journey: Notice the pattern of grumbling and testing when things get hard. Where are you tempted to test God’s character in distance and disappointment, rather than bringing Him your honest prayer and trust?
📺 WATCH: The Wilderness by the Bible Project. En Español: El Desierto.
🎧 LISTEN: Experiencing God’s Love Amid our Pain The Digital Examen Podcast with Jay Y. Kim & Ken Shigematsu): A beautiful reflection on the spiritual discipline The Examine, on learning to reflect on pain and lack without shame and experience God’s reassuring, healing love.
🎶WORSHIP: Red Sea Road (Ellie Holcomb), Speak, O Lord (Keith & Kristyn Getty), Great Shepherd (Naomi Raine), He Will Hold Me Fast (Shame & Shane)
